Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Peak Experiences (Richmond Location) Climbing Gym
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been climbing and I can’t take it anymore. My hand and arm strength from before is fading, and that’s just something that won’t fly.
To work towards changing that, I’m planning to go to the indoor climbing gym in Richmond named Peak, BUT, not just the same-old-same-old peak we know and love. No sirree! Our friends at Peak have grown so much that they’ve recently opened a new climbing facility that’s just as close to us, so I propose we go and show this place who’s boss.
What’s the best part, you ask?
You do NOT need to have any prior climbing experience to join in the fun! If you haven’t climbed before, I’m more than happy! You’ll get your feet under you (or above you, if you’re doing a heel hook) in no time.
If you don’t have any experience or haven’t been to Peak, we should meet sometime before the trip (~30-45min) so I can teach you some basic stuff you’ll need to know.
IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TO PEAK, YOU MUST FILL OUT A WAIVER, which can be found here:
If you’re under 18, you’ll need your guardian to sign it, too.
1:30pm Meet at Echols
1:35pm Leave for Peak
~Climb climb climb~
6/6:30pm Leave Peak (depending on when people are ready to leave)
~7:30pm Back in CVille, ready for a night of festivities
I’m thinking we could drop by Chipotle or somewhere else on the way home to reward ourselves for a job well done.
What you bring:
$10 Entrance fee
Harness (if you want to rope climb)
2L Dihydrogen Monoxide
Salty snax (if you want them)
$$$ For post-workout food (optional)
fUnKy JaMs for the car ride
I’ve got a car, but I’m going to need to hold the trip at 5 until we get more drivers. (Subtext: WE NEED MORE DRIVERS! Drivers get gas reimbursed + 50% Tip)
Catch ya on the flipside!
