Dell 2 Room #101
LOCATION and TIME are dependent on the school’s confirmation. I will text and email you if this changes.
If you have ever thought to yourself “I’d like to bring my walks to the next level.” This “trip” is for you!
This will be a lecture/interactive/flipped class room/other teaching buzz words experience carefully designed to teach you, the beginner to intermediate backpacker, how to get out there and shred some trails. (yes you can shred while backpacking)
TLDR: Show up and I’ll teach you some backpacking skills.
I intend to cover the following.
*Trails, Maps, navigation etc.
*Gear and packing
*safety and first aid
*Long Distance Hiking
Then we can do some hands on lessons.
*Pack shakedowns (You bring a pack with whatever gear you think you need and I go through it. I can usually cut out between 3 to 10 pounds of gear. Or for beginners you probably forgot some things)
*Trip ideas (I can review your ideas or provide some to consider.)
*gear use such as tents, sleeping bags/pads, stoves etc. (might go outside for this)
Warm clothes in case we go outside
Optional THINGS TO BRING:
Backpack with gear for pack shakedown
100 page spiral notebook and pen.
Food (This is a great example of yogiing https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yogi-ing)
