I’ve seen so many fall colors recently around Grounds and its super cool but do you know what’s even better than that?! Seeing fall colors on top of Humpback of course. So that means a hike to Humpback so we can see all the pretty fall colors and catch a beautiful sunset while we’re at it (it doesn’t get better than that)! Plus this is my first trip as a trip leader, so that’s super cool. Don’t worry though, I’ve hiked Humpback several times so I’m kind of a professional navigator around those parts haha. So the plan is:
-meet at Corner of Echols at 4:30 and leave around then
-drive 30 minutes to trailhead
-hike the steep 1 mile to the top
-admire the sky and pretty trees for a while
-head back down around 7ish
-drive back to grounds where you can bundle up in bed and sip some warm hot cocoa
The hike is pretty steep, so keep that in mind when you sign up. However, I have no doubt that any of you amazing people should have an issue trekking up to the top.
What to bring:
-snacks (optional)
-water
-layers!! it will be cold especially at the top when we’re sitting around admiring the sky and trees, so bring an extra jacket or wear leggings and layer with sweatpants! i don’t want anyone freezing :’)
-headlamp for the hike back down
