Humpback at Sunset!!

OVERVIEW

Lauren and I have been to humpback rock too many times in the past few weeks, but I have yet to see a sunset there!! If your looking for a relaxing late friday afternoon activity but want to be back in time for nightlife this is the hike for you! We’re planning to reach the top just before sunset (which is at 6:30), hang out at the top and enjoy the beautiful sunset, then make our way back (in the dark). The trail is a short 0.8 miles to the top and beginner friendly, though the elevation gain is steep and quick so be prepared for that.

**DRIVERS NEEDED AND WILL BE INITIALLY GIVEN PRIORITY** And gas can be reimbursed!

Schedule:
5 PM – Meet at Echols Dorm
5:30 PM – Arrive at Humpback
6:00 PM – Get to the top and enjoy the beautiful sunset
6:30PM – Start making our way back down
7:00 PM – Head back to UVA
7:30 PM- Back to Echols!

What to bring:
– *LIGHT!!!* Either a flashlight or headlamps work, but we will be hiking down in the dark
– Sturdy shoes you feel comfortable hiking in
– Water! Food too if u want
– Layers!! It gets really windy at the top
