HUMPBACK ON HUMPDAY (SUNRISE HIKE)

OVERVIEW

Sunrise!!!
It’s getting to be peak fall colors and what better way to see them than at a pretty sunrise? Humpback seems cool and is a reasonably short hike (about 0.7 miles) but pretty steep so we’ll keep a pretty easy pace. Wednesday morning looks clear at the moment but will be a little chilly so wear layers!

PLAN:
5:30 am: meet at Echols Dorm and get in car
6:00-6:15 ish arrive at humpback rocks
hike!
7:20 sunrise and hang out at the peak for a bit
~9:30 get back to grounds

we’ll aim to be back by 9:30, but it’s very possible we arrive a little after that so keep that in mind if you have early classes on Wednesdays.

WHAT TO BRING:
Pre-dawn fall vibes
warm layers
good hiking shoes
water
snacks if you want them
flashlights/ headlights (I’ll bring one spare flashlight and phones should work, but it’ll be dark before sunrise)

*DRIVERS WILL GET PRIORITY OFF THE WAITLIST!!* Anyone willing to drive will receive priority off the waitlist along with full gas reimbursement and a 50% tip. I will take people off the waitlist depending on the space available in the car. Also, preferably we can all fit in a single car but I will adjust the plans as needed.
