Humpback – Thursday Edition

OVERVIEW

Esteemed Cvillians,

Isaac’s Humpday sunrise hike completely filled up in roughly 9 seconds today, so it seems as though your thirst for adventure is insatiable. In an effort to bring justice to those who missed the 9-second signup window earlier today, I hereby announce a sequel – Thursty Humpday.

The sun rises at 7:21 on Thursday, which is a second later than on Wednesday. Aka everything from Isaac’s trip will be pushed back by 1 second (enjoy that precious extra sleep).

THE PLAN:

Meet at the brick wall next to the Echols (Old dorm) with plenty of time so that we can be loaded up and on the road by 5:46 AM (try to get there a few minutes early). I expect it to be a splendidly crisp morning, so BRING LAYERS. Maybe even a hat/gloves, and something to peel off when the sun greets us. If you haven’t been, the hike is short but steep (just over a mile total, there and back), so prepare accordingly. We should be back to Cville well before 8:59, ideally.

THINGS TO BRING:
– Water (1-2 L)
– Warm clothes/hiking shoes
– Breakfast/snacks
– A thermos full of something warm and toasty (recommended)
– Camera?
– I don’t know, an ironing board?

KEY TO SUCCESS = DRIVERS. Offer up your car and you’ll get waitlist priority, gas reimbursement, and a 50% tip! I can only drive 4 people + me, but more people will get off the waitlist when drivers sign up. The goal of this trip is to help out members who have yet to make it off of a waitlist!
