(Hump)Back-to-School Sunrise! (Rescheduled to 1/25/18)

New year, same early-bird shenanigans!

Let’s start the spring semester off right by paying homage to the infamous Humpback Rocks for a sunrise and taking in some cold mountain air with good company. It will be chilly for sure, but it should also be clear so we’ll have a great view of the sunrise!

If you haven’t hiked Humpback before (join this trip and change that), it’s short, but also very steep, so expect to be feelin’ the bern by the time we get to the top no matter how good of shape you’re in. It’s roughly a mile up and about an 800ft elevation gain.

Plan:
Leave Echols @ 6:10, start hiking a little before 7, sunrise and chill @ 7:23 for as long as we can stand the cold (trust me, won’t be long), and can be back sooner but will be back on grounds no later than 9.

*(I’m like 87% sure we’ll be back in time for 9a.m. classes, but if you’re going to be stressed about being late for a class, there are always variables in play so I can make no guarantees!)

You bring:
-sturdy shoes
-extra layer or two for when we’re not moving (it will be COLD)
-dihydrogen monoxide
-snacks/breakfast
-jams (musical instruments if you’re brave?)
-headlight if desired (not required!)

DRIVERS NEEDED!
-drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
-drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
