OVERVIEW

Hey there, dirtbags!

There’s a Dragon in Catawba and it’s due for a dental cleaning. I tried leading this in September but then I got the first-year plague and couldn’t go so we’re trying again. Join me and my fearless co-leader Austin Sullivan in checking out this Dragon’s Tooth for a short overnight backpacking trip. This short, exciting, somewhat rock scrambley ascent is great for all experience levels, so if you’ve never been outside before that’s okay! It is worth noting, though, that the rock scramble requires some ~agility~ so keep that in mind when choosing this trip and your footwear.

You can get nearly 360 degree views from the top of the tooth, and I personally prefer it to McAffee Knob. Hot take, I know. For more info about the hike check out this link:

Austin or I will grab tents from the gear room as needed, if you would like to hammock camp, you’re responsible for bringing your own or checking one out from the gear room. Don’t forget to grab a rain fly for your hammock if you don’t have one!
