I owe it all to the RTF (one final full pull)

OVERVIEW

4 years ago in my first semester at UVA, I endeavored week after week to understand the intricate and complex trail segments that make up the full Rivanna Trail. I posted frustrated cries for help on Strava that spoke about the lack of any map to assist in piecing together the 21 mile circular urban trail network that is the Rivanna Trail. The first week of December in 2019, my cries for help were finally answered. Former president, Bill Talley, posted a Rivanna Full Pull trail run through ODC. I was ecstatic; my dreams of connecting the trail segments that I had run over and over again so many times would be fulfilled.

4 years later, it feels only appropriate that I post one final RTF full pull as my last ODC trip pre-graduation as an ode to the trail that provided me with the many forested escapes, hungover long run routes, and giddy sunset jaunts that I needed to get through my time at UVA.

We typically are able to complete the loop in right over 3 hours (right under 9 min mile pace averages). While this isn’t a strict pace, I posted it as an advanced trail running trip because we probably will try to run about that pace for the whole 21ish miles.

If you wanna come, bring gells/water/nutrition for a 3 hour, 20+ mile run, and a means to carry it if you have one! (I have an extra I think that someone could also use). We will convene at the shrack at 9ish (flexible) and embark on our lengthly jaunt around Charlottesville. We will probs be back by 12:30 or 1! I am more than happy to drive people back to their homes post-run as to not run even more than we already will be.
