Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
New River Gorge
The weather is looking decent this weekend (high 70s both days and moderate chance of rain) – come out to the New to play and climb! Since the chance of rain is about 40% we may be climbing in areas protected from the rain – easiest climbs are 5.9-5.10.
In order to go on this trip you must be able to climb 5.10 on top rope. Those who can lead climb and/or drive get sign up priority. No teaching will happen this weekend, but you can review skills and practice leading to your heart’s content.
The plan is to leave Fri from town around 7pm, grab dinner on the road, and camp at Ray’s. Climbing crag for Sat is TBD depending on how the weather looks. Dinner likely at a restaurant on Sat night. More climbing Sunday, and then we’ll leave by about 4pm Sunday to be back in Cville around dinnertime.
What to bring: climbing and camp gear, 2L+ water, snacks, dinner $$, camera, rain gear, warm layers (hat, gloves, puffy jacket, etc), something to eat on, eating utensil, drinking mug (we’ll be cooking!!!)
Club provides: ga$ money + car ride, climbing and camping gear you need, breakfast and lunch for 2 days.
If you have any questions just ask, otherwise let’s get ready to rock!!!
