Even though this is a class 3 run, it leans toward the class 4 side because of the chilly water. As such, you MUST have a solid combat roll (in rapids), and/or extensive river experience to join this adventure. Richmond paddling is awesome most times of the year, but is especially nice in the winter as the river levels usually stay around 5-6 feet. Decent play and nice juicy rapids at this level. Another bonus to winter paddling in Richmond is that Legend’s Brewery has their seasonal Stout on tap (for those of us that are >21yrs. 🙂 and their chilly always tastes better after some cold water paddlin’. So bring along your mad skills and some money for Legends.
The Club provides: Boat, skirt, paddle, helmet, noseplug, pfd, wetsuit, splash jacket, dry bag, float bags, boat transport.
You should bring: Your boat/gear, warm fuzzy layers for paddling and to change into after, towel, water/snacks, money for Legends
