James River - Richmond
Take a break from exams and go kayaking!
We may go to he Lower James through Richmond, a short, Class III run with some fun play spots. Or we may go to Balcony Falls (Class II-III, but really fun at high water). Or the Maury or Tye, both class III-IV. Lots of options!
You must have a solid roll and good boat control to come on this trip, as it is a solid class III run. PLEASE do not sign up if this is not you. I ask this for safety reasons, cold water + cold air = unforgiving conditions.
You provide: kayaking gear, cold water gear, lunch/snacks, towel, warm dry clothes for after, bathing suit/clothes that can get wet, non-cotton layers, river shoes (closed toe preferable), id/money for food afterwards
Club provides: gas $$, kayaking and cold weather gear if you need it.
