Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Douthat State Park
Douthat State Park has some of the finest single track in VA (a few years ago it was mentioned in Blue Ridge Outdoors as one of the top 3 mountain bike destinations in VA!). I’ve been there once and LOVED the 11 mile loop I did. It started with a tough, technical climb up to some awesome views, followed by a ridge-line roller coaster, and ended with a fantastic, seemingly endless down hill (with numerous switchbacks). We could do that and then explore other trails, or pick a different loop. I plan to be on the trial for about 4 hours, so be ready for some epic riding! Do not sign up unless you have some mountain biking experience and are in decent shape. The club has 6 nice front suspension Gary Fisher Tassajara (various sizes) and helmets.
The trip may get canceled if it rains a lot Wednesday night and/or Thursday morning.
