Intermediate/Advanced Sport Climbing at the Obed

OVERVIEW

Please note this trip is going to leave on thursday afternoon at 3:30pm and return on sunday at midnight. The Obed is a massive sport climbing area similar to the New. The area is in eastern Tennesse and is about a six hour drive from Charlottesville. Because of this it will take a few tanks of gas to get there so everyone on the trip will have to throw in for some gas. We’ll be climbing at the Clear Creek Canyon Area as well as the Tierany Area. Sport routes will range in difficulty from 5.8ish to 5.14. If you sign up for this trip be prepared to set up most of you’re own climbs on lead. Because the nearest town is 20 minutes away we’ll be cooking almost all of our food at Del and Marty’s campground.
