Intermediate-Advanced White Water Kayaking – Downtown Richmond

OVERVIEW

The 3.5 mile section of the James through Richmond offers some class III rapids, a long class III-IV, and a solid class IV. This trip is for intermediate-advanced paddlers, so do NOT sign up unless you have that level of experience. Call (962-9737) or email (dclark@virginia.edu)me if you are not sure if you are qualified. A solid roll is strongly recommended but not required. The club provides gas, snacks, and all the necessary gear except your swim wear and foot wear (something that protects your feet that you don’t mind getting wet).

I’ll be meeting some of you out there so I’ll need to organize carpooling for this. If you have your own gear and want to join me for the beginner trip through the section of river above this one, no need to sign up for it, just let me know.

After the run we’ll hit Legends for some awesome wings and fantastic microbrew (if your age is >= 21 years).

The Club provides: Boats/gear, boat/gear transport

You should bring: Your boat/gear, swimwear, footwear that can get wet, towel, change of clothes, water, snacks, money, ID
