Do you want to climb the wall like a spiderman using tiny hand holds? Well, climbing is not all about the muscles, but a lot of technique. Having proper techniques will not only allow you climb harder grades, but it also saves you a lot of energy. As I promised, here is climbing workshop II – static climbing.

Unlike the first workshop (overhangs and dynamic movements), you will learn how to climb flat walls with small holds. If you are currently climbing 5.8-5.10, this workshop is just for you. I will be teaching some intermediate techniques:
Proper footwork
Counterbalancing + Flagging
Holding crimpers, slopers, side pulls, etc
Resting arms
Body awareness and smooth, precise, and efficient movements

This will be an interactive hands-on class. I will explain the technique, then demonstrate the technique while climbing and finally, you will climb using what you learned and provide feedback to each other.

You are required to know how to belay, tie-in, and be able to climb at least 5.8 on top rope.

Club Provides: gas money or a ride, climbing gear, the tool for climbing harder grades

You Provide: climbing gear that you own, $9 entrance fee, plenty of water, extra money for a possible Mongolian Grill afterwards

If you plan on just climbing all day on your own or need to get back early, please do not sign up for this trip. If you cannot attend, you must withdraw immediately due to the high demand for this workshop.

Drivers and a volunteer co-instructor (5.10+) will have the priorities. I will limit the number of attendees to 5 unless someone volunteers to help out.
