Intermediate Kayaking, James River Through Richmond

OVERVIEW

Let’s celebrate the end of exams by going kayaking! The Lower James through Richmond is a short, Class III run with some fun play spots.

Let’s meet at the Mayo Island/14th Street take out at 11, email me if you need directions. Also, its supposed to rain between now and then, and if the river level goes up I may cancel this trip because I don’t know the lines when the waters high (please email me if you do!)

You must have a solid roll and good boat control to come on this trip, as it is a class III run. PLEASE do not sign up if this is not you. I ask this for safety reasons, cold water + cold air = unforgiving conditions.

You provide: kayaking gear, cold water gear, lunch/snacks, towel, warm dry clothes for after, bathing suit/clothes that can get wet, non-cotton layers, river shoes (closed toe preferable)

Club provides: gas $$, no gear because I’ll be in Richmond and can’t go to Dave’s
