116 Washington Avenue - A.K.A. Shred Shack
Narrow Back Mountain, Virginia, USA
Narrowback mountain was the first mountain biking trip I went on with the club two years ago, and the time has come to show this incredible trail to some more of you fine folks. The route is a 13-mile figure-8 loop with some extended climbing, a few technical rocky spots (that you can totally push), and an awesome descent at the end. Here’s a more detailed write-up of it: https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/3771756/narrowback-mountain-loop
The plan:
-meet at the shred shack at 10:00am
-load up bikes and head out
-arrive at the trailhead around 11:30
-ride ride ride (also snack breaks)
-back at the cars around 3:00
-home before 4:30, hopefully
You bring:
-water 2L: I can put 1-2 bottle cages on each bike, if you would like to carry more on the ride, bring a backpack. Let me know in the trip questions if you’d like bottle cages on the bike.
-any snacks you need
-a way to carry your water and snacks – let me know in the trip questions if you’d like to borrow a club pack.
-closed-toe shoes
I bring:
-bikes
-helmets
-tools
Driver(s) needed! I don’t have a car, so this trip can’t happen without a driver – drivers get priority off the waitlist and gas reimbursement + 50% tip! Please let me know about your bike carrying abilities if you have a car.
