Intermediate Paddling on the James – Part I: Balcony Falls

OVERVIEW

As amazing as Intro to Probability theory is, I think Zoran will understand if I take one day off to paddle. We’re going to meet up around 1:30 and head down to the Balcony Falls run on the James River. We’ll paddle down this fun stretch of Class II-III whitewater and if we’re lucky we’ll have two cars and be able to drive back to the put-in. Otherwise, we’ll just make Quintin run and get the car. Anyways, it should be a sweet day on the river. The club will provide whatever gear you don’t have. Make sure to bring clothes that can get wet, a towel, and some water and a snack. In the event that it rains…we will still be going. I’m going to waitlist everyone until I figure out how much gear is available. Obviously, if you have your own gear and boat and all that jazz you’re automatically in. If we’re lucky we may get to see the ever more elusive swimming Q___. Its something not to be missed. Ask him about his streak.
