Intermediate white water kayaking

OVERVIEW

Sunday should be a great day for kayaking! I want to take advantage of the water levels so am leading a beginner trip in the AM-early afternoon, so since I’ll have the gear in/on my Jeep anyway, why not head down the mid-James for some fun class III paddling. The section of the James from Glasgow, VA to Snowden has lots of class IIs and a couple class IIIs, including the area famous Balcony Falls. The start time for this one is going to be a little loose – I’m aiming to leave my place at 3, but this all depends on how the intro trip goes. If we put on in Glasgow by 5 (its ~ a 1.5 hour drive) we should have a good 2 hours of paddling/playing and be back in C’ville by 11 (we could grab some Subway or something on the road home).

You must be an intermediate to sign up. If you don’t know if you are an intermediate, than you probably shouldn’t be signing up. If you are really unsure but wanna go soooo bad, you can email (dec3f) or call (760-2739) me.
