Take a break from exams and go kayaking on Friday! We are gonna leave at 10am, which should put us on the water by noon, and hopefully will give us time for 2 laps (or 1 lap and a trip to z-dam), depending on what people want to do.
The Lower James through Richmond is a short, Class III run with some fun play spots. You need to have a good roll and good boat control to come on this trip, as it is a class III run.
This trip, as always, is weather and water-level dependent
I’m waitlisting everyone at the moment; if I don’t know you and your ability, I’ll send you an email to check in on what your kayaking experience is, just for safety’s sake. (Its okay if I don’t know you, still sign up, I just want to make sure you’ve got the experience for this river since the water is chilly).
We will most likely stop at Legends afterwards for warm food and drinks, so bring some $$/id for this as well.
You provide: gear if you have it (5 essentials), lunch/snacks, towel, warm dry clothes for after, bathing suit/clothes that can get wet, non-cotton layers for kayaking, river shoes (closed toe preferable), $ for food at Legends
Club provides: gear if you need it, gas $$
