Intermediate Whitewater Kayaking on the James Through Richmond

OVERVIEW

The lower James is a solid class III run right through downtown Richmond. Hollywood and Pipeline rapids are both Class III, and the rest of the run is class II and below, with one short flat section. The run itself is on the shorter side, but there’s a great play spot in Pipeline. You should have a pretty solid roll and previous whitewater experience for this run, even though the water is on the low side.

Right now the trip limit is set at 5, but may be increased depending on whether or not more drivers sign up and if people have their own gear. The club, for this trip, can only supply gear for four people (Dave Clark, who has the rest of the gear, is out of town).

You bring: food, water, bathing suit, river shoes, your own gear if you have it.
