OVERVIEW

Join me for an after-work paddle on the “Lower James” through Richmond. I’ll be working closer to Richmond than Cville, so the idea is for y’all to meet me in Richmond at the takeout at 5, and launch before 6 PM.
Since I won’t be departing from Cville, I’ll need at least one driver, ideally with the ability to tote several boats and bodies to ease shuttle. Signup early so that I can pass a gear list onto Dave C. Everyone will get wait listed till I screen your skills, and get a driver.

TIMES:
I put 4 PM as the departure time from Cville – be prompt – this is when y’all need to be rolling towards Richmond from Cville by to meet me.
If this presents a huge problem, we could possibly shift it to the right a bit depending on the crew/vehicles available, but the idea is to meet at takeout at 5ish PM so that we have ample time to get down the run in daylight.
Trip may be canceled for low interest or if I can’t find a driver, or skill level upgraded in unlikely event that the river rises significantly.

REQUIRED SKILLZ:
Read about this section here: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/1952/ (Note: Many of the pictures featured in the description were taken at higher water levels than we are likely to encounter). But anyways, You should have been on multiple river trips, and comfortable paddling in Class II-III rapids.
A flat water roll would be good to have and will help make this trip go smoother. Excessive swim team tryouts might result in us taking off after sunset. (in lieu of a combat roll, you could also bring supreme boat control and river reading skills, and a good brace such that you don’t have to roll, or the perseverance to hang out up to 30 seconds or so for a T-Rescue!)
