Intermediate Ww Kayaking – James River

OVERVIEW

** The Original Trip Plans Have Been Changed**

In the hopes that more people will be able to participate, the planned kayaking trip to the New River has been abbreviated and moved three hours closer. Now the trip will only be Tuesday evening, after classes. We will go to the James River, through Richmond. The James includes an upper section of class II-III, and a lower section that has a big, tasty class IV rapid called Hollywood. We will try to do both sections, but time and light may not allow.

After the river we will go to Legends, a sweet restaurant near the river. Bring your cash for dinner, and your ID if you plan to have a brew.

Outdoors at UVA Provides:
Boats, cars to ride in, paddling equipment

You provide:
Warm non-cotton clothes for the river, dry clothes for afterwards, sandles/booties, money and an ID for a stop at Legends afterwards, hutzpah.
