Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Darden Towe
Hey guys, I’m going to lead another rolling clinic this Thursday afternoon. It will be in the same format as the others in that I am going to limit it to two or three people (probably two) and it should only take about an hour.
If you have any interest in learning a bit of kayaking and learning or improving your roll please sign up!
We will meet at 5:30pm on Thursday in the parking spaces in front of Gilmer hall (directly across from Echols dorm), and should be back by 6:30/7ish.
Bring some water, a towel, and a change of clothes.
Club provides all boats and gear.
Additionally for those who have just rolled in the last few weeks (and hopefully for those soon to roll on Thursday) I am trying to do a trip to run the Upper James (mostly class 2) one Saturday or Sunday at the beginning of August. My plan would be to leave Charlottesville early, pack a little food and spend four hours or so hanging out, swimming and paddling this couple mile section of the river (https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/1951/). This way we can get a lot of people over a more variable skill range out at once and even those who didn’t quite get their rolls could come as well. If you have any questions or even trip date suggestions please feel free to shoot me an email.
Cheers,
Ned
