OVERVIEW

I’ve heard from the weather man that this storm which is passing through is going to take away much of the humidity with it. As such, Thursday appears to be a wonderful day for riding some trails. This ride is for any level but will be tailored for first timers. Unless I get a crew of experienced riders, we will start with a lesson on shifting and then practice riding the club’s front suspension mountain bikes. Once everyone is comfortable with their bike we will bike from Echols up to the trailhead on Observatory Hill Rd. The ride pace will be slow with lots of stops to let everyone catch up. You do not need any mountain biking experience to join this trip but should be in decent shape. The ride style/pace may change with the experience level of the group. Regardless, plan for a 1-1.5 hour, mixed road/trail ride.

The club provides bikes and helmets.

You should bring plenty of water and athletic wear – shorts, shirt, and sneakers. Please arrive on time and well hydrated. Each bike has a cage for a water bottle. Bike bottles fit best but the cages will fit some 16-20 oz. bottles.
