Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek
Finally! ‘Tis the season for those interested in learning how to white water kayak, to get out there and do it. The water is nice ‘n comfortable, the air is warm…and though the forecast call for thunder storms, its only at a 40% chance. I’ll be out at Beaver Creek on Saturday (6/12) with a few boats and will be on the water unless we get a SEVERE thunder storm! 🙂 I’d love for you to join me to learn the basics of white water kayaking. We’ll practice paddling/maneuvering a white water boat, wet exits, T-rescues, and eskimo rolling for those interested. We’ll have to meet at Beaver Creek (we’ll actually be on a lake) so I’ll need for you to drive (its only 10 miles from here). If that’s a problem, I can try and organize car pooling. You can find directions to Beaver Creek posted with the adventure – simply go the upcoming adventures page and follow the “Beaver Creek” link under the “location” header. Email me or call with questions (dclark@virginia.edu; 760-2739).
