Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Walnut Creek Park
This class is designed to teach you the very basics of white water kayaking, to prepare you for future river trips. We’ll spend 2 hours on Thursday (4/17) afternoon on the lake at Walnut Creek Park (~10 miles south of town) learning such skills as the wet exit, how to paddle a white water kayak, T-rescues, and the Eskimo roll. Since I will need at least 1 driver for this, I will put everyone on the waitlist and move the first driver to sign up, and then the first 4 or 5 who signed up, onto the trip list. I can expand the trip if mutliple drivers sign up.
The plan is to meet at Echols at 4:30 (please be prompt!), get out to the park by 5:00, and be off the water between 7-7:30.
The Club provides: Boats, spray skirts, pfds, paddles, helmets, nose plugs.
You should bring: swimwear, towel, change of clothes, water, snacks.
