OVERVIEW

Trout season is here! Fishing is likely to be good in many of the streams, but I’d like to start off with an introductory trip to Mint Springs Lakes. These were just stocked on the 29th, so I hope that will improve our chances of catching fish (but I make no guarantees). No prior experience is necessary for this trip, but a fishing license is. While you are allowed to keep fish from these lakes, I will not keep any, and should you choose to keep, I ask that you bring your own supplies for doing so.

You provide:
-> Fishing license (State Freshwater + Trout) – $36
Optional:
-> polarized sunglasses: *highly* recommended.

Club provides:
-> Fishing gear (3 sets)

You can buy your license online at: http://secure01.virginiainteractive.org/horf/ (you’ll need to print the license out)
I would suggest getting all three below, but only the bottom two are necessary for this trip.
-> $4 – National Forest Permit – under “Special Licenses”
-> $18 – Resident State Freshwater Fishing – under “Fishing Licenses”
-> $18 – Resident Trout Fishing – under “Fishing Licenses”

Anyone that’s a member of this club should be able to get a resident license given you’re either a student or a resident:
