Hiking (Day Hikes)
In Front Of AFC Side Door
Rivanna Trail
Since it is in the upper 60s today, it is the perfect day to do a short little hike on the Rivanna Trail. Also, it might rain! If you have ever enjoyed playing in the rain as a child then this short hike is for you. Afterwards, I will be hitting up the hot tub at AFC if anyone wants to join.
We will meet in front of the AFC, and walk down to Stribling Ave. where the Rivanna trail meets. We will then hike north 2 miles over a creek, through a bamboo forest, and up O-hill. We will meet back up with the road at Ivy Rd. and walk back from there. If there happens to be another person driving, we will heve the option to shuttle instead and possibly do more of the trail and less road-trekking.
What to bring:
Rain jacket
Hiking boots or tennis shoes
Gaitors if you have them (to keep rain from getting into your boots)
Water bottle
If you want to go to the Hot Tub: Student ID Card, towel or 25 cents, bathingsuit, flip-flops, 5$ if you are not a current student
