Ivy Creek Native Plant Walk!

OVERVIEW

Why doesn’t anyone ever mooch off of the cool, free, outdoors-y stuff to do in Charlottesville? I will never know! BUT thanks to the wonderful Phillip Reeves and February’s Trip Leader Hype Email, I now know that there really are a ton of cool activities and service trips to do in Cville lead by organizations like the Ivy Creek Foundation, CAMBC, PATC and more.

I have never been to Ivy Creek and have never done anything with the Ivy Creek Foundation, but this is supposed to be a cool little native plant walk where we’ll learn about things with funky names like hepatica, trailing arbutus, bloodroot and spicebush. I know that this trip sounds nerdy. Maybe my interest in this activity makes me a nerd! Hmmmm now I’m hungry for nerds. If I remember, I will bring a box of nerds on this trip to persuade people to come.

Here’s the info on the actual event. It’s not super detailed, but I’m assuming that it’s going to be less of a hike and more of a stroll.

the plan:
8:30 meet chez echols
9:00 arrive at Ivy Creek Foundation wOO
9 AM – 11 AM get learnt, do some strolling in the woods
11:15 get back, Jojo!

DRIVERS NEEDED! This trip isn’t actually far away enough for drivers to get reimbursed, however, drivers WILL GET PRIORITY OFF OF THE WAITLIST!
