OVERVIEW

Tidal James River is THE PLACE for monster blue catfish.

I have spent three afternoons in the tidal James River area last week just to get myself comfortable with the area. In short, I caught fish everyday and I broke a rod on Friday afternoon. So I organized all my saltwater gears and headed back on Sunday and caught a 25+ lbs. I talked to a guy who participated a tournament 2 weeks ago at Hopewell, Virginia. The biggest one they caught was 86 lbs.

We will depart from Echols with full tanks of gas at 6:00. So we can fish the high tide and low tide in one day. Then we will board a 17 ft hard floor zodiac with 40hp four stroke motor. She can comfortably run in 2 feet of water and will take us to the two spots I picked last week. Baits, rods and reels will be provided. If you like to use live bait, there is a store a mile from the boat ramp. You need to check out a life vest from the club.

I personally will not eat any fish from James River. However, I will fillet the fish for you if you like.

The boat can take up to ten person for scuba diving, but we since we are fishing and have hooks and rods all over the place. So the maximum number of attendees is four.

Please pack your water, lunch, live biats(if you prefer), etc. Motion sickness pill is highly recommended.

The cost for you is $0.

Any questions please email.
