Jones Run Falls Hike

OVERVIEW

Want to join me in my goal of seeing every notable waterfall in Shenandoah National Park before I graduate?? Or just want to have a relaxing Sunday morning surrounded by nature?

The Jones Run hike is about 6.5 miles with ~1,500 ft of elevation gain. I am being optimistic about the weather forecast for Sunday! We will plan to leave Cville at 8:30 on Sunday morning. It’s an hour drive to the trailhead. The hike should take us 3 hours, so we will be back in Cville around 1 or 2pm.

Unfortunately, there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday. If the weather forecast hasn’t changed by Saturday night, I will have to cancel the trip (unless everyone is dead set on seeing these waterfalls). I have a park pass, but if more drivers sign up we may need to get another car into the park. If everyone could bring $5 that would be great!

Here’s what you should bring:
– Water: 2L seems to be the standard here, but you know you’re body best
– Snacks: we will be taking breaks to enjoy the views and sit by some awesome waterfalls!
– Rain gear: Likelihood of rain is high
– Park Pass if you have one: Pass holders and drivers will get priority off the waitlist
