OVERVIEW

Abstract:
I’m trapped inside a tiny bottle. The air turns grim, and my vision is washed out, distorted through the surrealist blur of the glass walls that surround me. Everything I knew before this time was an illusion, deceiving me from what was most important in my time of existence. The effect of belonging. Belonging to the sea shells that caress the gentle shores of the coast and the wilted trees, defaced with thousands of bites from a foreign bug from a foreign land, wallowing together but separate from each other. But for a time, I knew that I was young; that time has since passed. A mirage of trust and delinquency has enveloped my inner self and turned me into a man whom I know longer recognize. But it is not without strife that I accept these changes, these alterations, these tailorings. It is with utmost strife. The bees. The bees. The bees. A cloud of bees, I sit on as I float through the world, invisible to all I pass. A mere ghost. These striped insects are my only company, but conversationalists they are not. I observe. People I once knew before my time with the bees now go on as though I’d never crossed paths with them. Friends, family, colleagues, enemies, lovers, associates, and students of mine all continue their mindless dance through time and space without me. Cold and rough pavement beneath my hooves. Though night fell only recently, the sun rises now with fury and urgency. Twin suns – they cage me in. They roar.

Conclusion:
Okay great! Time to get down to business.
The short of it:
Evan and I are going to run early on Wednesday morning to do a loop of the Moorman’s River Trail, which connects with the Appalachian Trail. Fall colors will be spectacular. THE RUN IS 18 MILES (in approx. 4 hours or something). Pace is super chill (we are not in peak male form at the moment). Possible cold plunge.

WHAT TO BRING:
Food (calories, sustenance, something to prevent the bonk monster from taking over your field of vision). Bring at least 1,000 calories worth of food on the run, if not 1.5-2,000.
Water (1 Liter for the car) (1-2 liters for the run)
Running vest or hip belt or hydration pack (something you would be okay running with for four hours)
Headlamp (In case things get crazy)
Running shoes (something with some good tread ideally but you can send in road runners for sure)
Treking poles (AKA European cheating sticks, if you are feeling Chad)
Pre-installed mullet haircut with a running hat for aerodynamics
4-5 matches wrapped in tin foil
