Kayak Roll Class

OVERVIEW

Being able to roll your kayak back up after you tip over is essential to getting over the beginner level of white water kayaking. This class will teach you the mechanics of the eskimo roll, with several variations. I’ll provide instructions, as well as pictures from the book that tought me.

This class is for experienced paddlers who want to learn, work on/improve their roll, or just take a boat out to practice paddling. **Please DO NOT sign up unless you have taken the introductory class with me or have similar experience in a white water kayak – you MUST know how to wet exit and how to do a T-rescue in order to sign up. I will be holding only 1 or 2 introductory classes this year.

We’ll be meeting at my house. You can find directions posted with the adventure (just follow the ‘Dave Clark’s House’). The Outdoors Club provides: boat, skirt, pfd, helmet, nose plug, paddle, boat transport

You should bring: bathing suit, change of clothes, sunscreen, water, snacks, hope & optimism!
