OVERVIEW

This trip is for people who want to learn how to roll a kayak, and haven’t yet had a chance to be introduced to the sport on flatwater. Also, for those who would like to practice further to sharpen their roll. The attendee limit may increase depending on whether or not enough drivers sign up.

We’re going to go to nearby Walnut Creek Park, get in boats, get upside down, get wet, and get back over again.
I haven’t looked at the weather this far in advance, but there’s a good chance that we’re also going to get cold. The club will probably be able to provide wet suits. With or without wet suits, though, cold water freezes your brain.

Since my ability to transport boats is limited to 4 at a time, I’d like to set the trip up in two shifts. Half the folks will meet me at 10:30 in the morning, and we will go to Walnut with gear in tow. Half the folks will meet one another at 12:00, and arrive at Walnut to replace the cold morning shift by 12:30. I will e-mail you with your time once I have seen everyone’s responses on the trip info survey.

Be sure to bring a towel and a change of dry, warm clothes. Bring $5 in the event that some of us want to grab a tasty lunch afterwards.
The club provides boats, paddles, skirts, pfds, and a ride in a car.
