Kayak Roll Lesson

OVERVIEW

This trip is for people who want to learn to eskimo roll their kayak, and haven’t had any opportunity to learn yet, particularly folks who have been waitlisted on one or more of the recent Sunday roll lessons. It is also a chance for practice, if you’re shaky in the basics.

IMPORTANT: The title says to meet at 1535 Gordon, but I will swing by the corner of Echols, if you contact me about it.

We’re going to go to nearby Walnut Creek Park, get in boats, get upside down, get wet, and get back over again.
We’re also going to get cold. Hopefully we’ll have some wetsuits, but I’m not sure of that, or how many we have. With or without wetsuits, cold water freezes your brain, so you’ve got to be into that kind of feeling.

Weather now says it will be cloudy, so let’s expect it to be chilly, and just maybe the sun will suprise us.
What it is very important to bring: Wear good lake clothes (incl. a bathing suit, if you so desire), bring a towel and dry layers for any body parts you don’t want to be cold immediately afterwards.

If some people have some cash and free time on them afterwards we can go to 5 guys.

I only have room for 2 boats, but I expect some more cars to sign up, in which case I can expand the trip from the waitlist.
