Late-Night Pt 4! (Spyrock Edition)

OVERVIEW

Location location location! Hawksbill has probably had enough of our asses up there in the dead of the night and would like a break from our shenanigans, so let’s take the party to Spyrock!

We’ll be a couple nights ahead of the full moon this time around, but the light should be plenty enough for us to have a quite delightfully bright night in the moonlight at a height just right like a kite held tight in flight out of sight with a slight might like Dwight whose fright gives insight to the highlight of the invite on the fortnight despite the dogbite around midnight at the drill site green light in sight of the knife fight which ignites the upright spotlight that shines on my appetite for this late-night. Goodnight.

Spyrock is one of the neatest places around in my opinion with a huge open rock area at the top with 360 degree views! Of course all of our views will be in the upward trajectory, but my point is the open space there will be prime real estate for a big squad to take on a late-night.

Logistics:
Meet at Echols at 9 (NOTE THAT THIS IS EARLIER THAN USUAL), drive ~75 minutes to the trailhead, night hike the ~1.6 miles to the top (roughly 45 minute hike), get to the top around 11 and stargaze/ jam/ dance the night away for as long as we can handle the cold, descend and drive back to grounds where we will arrive around 3:30am. That shouldn’t sound weird by now.

Bring:
-sturdy hiking shoes for this one (wee rock scramble at the top)
-water and snacks
-headlamp (PLEASE get yourself but lmk if you aren’t able to)
-warm layer/blankets/sleeping bags (IT WILL BE VERY COLD)
-yoga mat or pad (recommended)
-more warm layers and blankets and sleeping bags
-music and stories for the drive
-bangin dance music playlist for the top??
-even more warm layers and blankets and sleeping bags
-seriously

DRIVERS NEEDED!
-Drivers need to show up to Echols with a full tank of gas!
-Drivers get priority off the waitlist. The club reimburses for gas +50% tip!
