OVERVIEW

Have you every wanted to rip massive, arcing turns through fine white ice crystals whilst your beard flows magnificently behind you, but for whatever reason haven’t? Well, here’s your chance. We’ll at least get you pizza-ing down a gradual slope, anyway. Sunday afternoon we’ll head on over to the local mound, make sure we look awesome, and then do our thing. This trip is meant as an intro trip, for people who have never skied or those that just really don’t know what the hell they’re doing. If there are people looking for some tips to get to the next level, we can probably accommodate, but keep in mind that I’ll give total beginners priority and we’ll be spending some solid time on the BUNNY SLOPE. Snowboarders, eah, I’m not nearly as experienced at sideways monoplanking, so I’m not your best bet for learning, but if there’s room, what the hell, we’ll take you, but skiers get priority.
Skiing can be a bit of an expensive sport. The club doesn’t have any gear and will not pay for lift tickets. If you can scrounge someone else’s gear and pass, that’s great, if not, you’ll have to shell out a little cashish. So Wintergreen is stupid and you can get an 8 hour ticket for $72 or a 4 hour ticket for $62. I’m not trying to stay at Wintergreen for any more than four hours, but I really hate to ask y’all to pay 62 bucks for 4 hours when you could stay til they close for just 10 bucks more. I guess we’ll just have to see what people wanna do. RENTALS are $37 for 8 hours and $26 for 4 hours. That includes skis, boots, poles. Pre-register here to save time: https://secure.wintergreenresort.com/rentals/StartPage.aspx
Sunday is forecast to have a high of 44 or 38 depending on who you believe, so it’ll be chilly, but things could get a little damp if you plan on falling a lot.
Bottom line: skiing is reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally fun, even if you’re just learning, so come learn with fun people.

Club provides: Ride, cool peeps (not the marshmallows gross things), gas reimbursement, instruction
You provide: Jolly can-do attitude, gear and pass (if you have to purchase both, I put the fee at 100 as sort of a compromise. It’ll be on that order), proper winter attire, beard
