Learn to Lead at Hidden Rocks

OVERVIEW

Are you tired of having rope rubbing on your face while cruxing out? Do you wish your failures resulted in an enormous fall instead of just a gentle swing unnoticed by your belayer? Do you want to put up routes for your friends to climb? Come learn to lead climb.

This Sunday we will take two lucky individuals to Hidden Rocks. There are some short easy very well bolted climbs there that will be great to learn on. The small format of this means that hopefully by the end of the day you will feel quite comfortable with leading and lead belaying. Me and Parker have a climb we are working on there that will serve as excellent whip catching / taking experience.

You should be comfortable top-rope belaying/climbing and you should be able to comfortably do a V2 in Slaughter. The hike is about 45 minutes each way.

Bring:
Climbing shoes
Chalk
Harness
Food + Water for day
Helmet
Belay device of choice if you have one. We will probably start on ATC but most people prefer Grigri or locking device later on.
