Let’s Rock’n’Roll (Marys Rock Hike!)

OVERVIEW

What’s up shredders! I haven’t led a trip in like a year and a half (wow that’s crazy), so it’s only fitting that I get back into it by knocking out a hike that’s been on my Shenandoah bucket list for awhile now. So without further ado…. we’re going to Mary’s Rock!

I’m super pumped for this hike; the trail looks like it’ll be a good one for a nice afternoon romp through the woods to some killer views. According to AllTrails, it’s a 6.6 mile (total) out-and-back moderate hike, so it looks like it should be doable for pretty much anyone.

~~The Plan~~
-meet at the corner of Echols at 12 (noon)
-leave by 12:10ish and drive 1 1/2 hours to the trailhead
-head up the mountain around 1:30 ish
-romp and enjoy the rocks
-hike back down and head home to get back to cville around 7ish

Stuff to bring:
-cash money for a shenandoah pass (if we don’t have people who already have one)
-plenty of H20
-snacks/a lunch? I’m definitely bringing some chow
-layers? (no clue what the temp is going to look like)
-sturdy shoes (apparently this trail is ~a little bit rocky~ so I’d probably recommend hiking boots if you have them (but if not I’m sure you’ll be fine))
