Linville Gorge Loop

OVERVIEW

Time for a long weekend adventure in the “Grand Canyon of the East”

We will leave after dinner on Thurday (around 7), drive halfway, crash at my family’s place about three hours down the road, then wake up bright and early & drive the remaining 2.5 hours to the trailhead.

From the trailhead just outside of Marion, NC we will start on a 22 mile loop that will take us through some of the highlights of the Gorge. Prospectively, we’ll hikie 6 miles on Friday, stop & swim at some cool waterfalls along the way. Then we’ll hike 10 miles on Saturday and the last 8 on Sunday. After getting off the trail and chowing down on some (likely very unhealthy) grub, we’ll drive on back to C-ville.

This is not a beginner trip, we will be hiking 22 miles over three days 🙂

Currently limited to 4 adventurous attendees since thats my car size.

Club pays for:

Backpack
Sleeping Bag
Hammock or Sleeping Pad

Rain Gear
Change of clothes and SOCKS
Hiking boots
tolietries

2 water bottles or similar (at least 2 liters)
bowl/eating utensil

$$$ for dinner on Sunday

ENERGY to hike and have fun!

I have:
Stove, gas, Cooking pots, water filter, tent, so no need to worry about those!
and I will take care of food. 🙂
