New River Gorge National Park, West Virginia, USA
It’s rafting time! With a very special guest making a most triumphant return, he’s coming off the Grand Canyon, he eats granite for breakfast and washes it down with straight river water, he is… MITCH LANG
We’re headed out to the New River in West Virginia on a little rafting trip. We’re hitting the lower section of the New River from Cunard to Fayette Station. The lower section will consist of class III-IV whitewater and a pretty incredible gorge. Check out the rapids here:

RIVER LEVEL AND TEMPERATURE:
The current river level is 6.7ft and dropping, AW characterizes this as high runnable, rapids should be pretty big without a whole lot of dry rocks around, should be a great rafting level. The air temperature is projected to be in the low 80s which should be great and it looks like the water will be in the low 60s, which should be pretty much perfect.
TO PARTICIPATE:
Everyone should be prepared to swim a strong 50m.
While prior rafting experience is a plus, experience swimming in moving water and the ability to participate in your own rescue is all that is required to attend.
