DRIVERS NEEDED!
Trade your Saturday after-game couch for a ridge-top view that stretches from the Shenandoah Valley to the Piedmont. We’ll hike to the fabulous Mary’s Rock via the Appalachian Trail (north approach) which are 1.9 miles and 600 ft of elevation gain each way, 3.8 miles and 1,200 ft total. Solid effort and BIG payoff!!
The hike is intermediate, but anyone reasonably fit can handle it.
This is my first trip leading at ODC, but no worries, I’ve led several backpacking trips in Europe. We’ll have a great time!
IMPORTANT: Rain is expected during the day by 50%, with heavier rain forecast for the evening when we should be already back. Nevertheless, I encourage you to bring sturdy footwear and a light rain jacket! Wet stones are slippery and we want everyone gets back safe…
So what to bring:
– Enough water
– Snacks/lunch
– Hiking shoes
– (Light rain jacket)
DRIVERS WILL GET PRIORITY OFF THE WAITLIST!!
Drivers will get full gas reimbursed + a 50% tip.
Also, anyone with a [Shenandoah] National Parks Pass will get priority as well!
