Mcafee Knob Day Hike

OVERVIEW

What’s up guys, I am heading to Mcafee Knob this Friday (October 6th), which has some of the prettiest views in Virginia and probably the Appalachian Trail in general. We will be leaving UVA Echols dorm early ~ 5 AM to avoid the hottest part of the day and to get the 1hr 45 min drive out of the way. We should arrive at the trailhead a little before 7 AM, hike 4 miles up to the 3197 foot peak, relax take pictures and eat lunch, then head back down to the car for an unforgettable 4 hour hike; leaving Mcafee Knob around 11 AM and back before 1 PM classes.

Drivers will be prioritized! Drivers get full reimbursement for gas +50% tip. Please show up to Echols with a full tank of gas. I can only take 3 people in my car until I get another driver. I will take 8 people when another driver joins.

What to bring:
– Good hiking shoes
– H20 (a lot)
– Snacks/lunch for the top
– music suggestions
