meeting (and maintaining) the newest addition to the odc fam <3

OVERVIEW

We are ALL avid trail users here. We hike, bike, climb, run, bird, forage, explore, connect, etc, etc. You get the point – we use trails a LOT. In all our time on the trails, have you ever stopped to think about who keeps these in such great shape for us to safely enjoy our adventures???

Well now the answer is US!!! At least over the 3.25 mile span of the Brown Rocky Mountain trail in the Southern District of Shenandoah National Park that is now OURS!! Yes that’s right: odc is adopting a blue-blazed section right off the AT!!!

This will be our first trip out to our section, and we’ll be joined by two experienced trail maintainers and learning about how they do the pruning, waterbar clearing, and other fun maintenance stuff that keeps our trails in shape for us to use! Our section requires us to hike 6-7 miles total, so we’ll also be getting a nice walk in as well.

back in cville by 2:20 AT THE LATEST
