Meteor Shower for Those Who Like to Go to Bed Before 2!

OVERVIEW

Hey guys!

So peak time for the leonid meteor shower is from 11pm to 4am. I want to hit the earlier part, as i am old and like to go to bed a decent hour. 🙂

so here is the plan:

Meet at echols at 1030 so we can hop in cars and head to Humpback rocks. We will take the short hike up with headlamps and check out the sky while on the rocks for about an hour. I recommend you dress very warmly as it will be very cold. For example: I will be wearing thermal socks and boots or tennis shoes. I will be wearing thermals (under armor) long sleeves, a jacket, scarf, hat, gloves, and my fav sweat pants. Although it may be overkill, you can always take off layers. In my backpack I will have a sleeping bag and pad and headlamp (which you can get from GEAR ROOM on MONDAY), A LITER OF WATER, because I will be bringing my jetboil and hot chocolate. Therefore I will have a coffee cup of some sort, as should you if you want some. I might grab some marshmallows from the store if I have time. ☺
After checking out the sky, we will hike down and head back….hopefully by 130-2 am!

I need drivers!
You need to dress warmly, get to gear room for a sleeping bag, pad, and headlamp, and backpack if you need it. And bring a coffee cup and 1 liter of water!
