Feel like doing some turns on all of the fresh powder that Snowshoe has been getting this week? If so, then let’s hit the slopes for the day this Saturday! Today’s snow report says that they’ve received 18″ in the last 36 hours (7″ in the last 24 hours), with another 3-5″ expected today/tonight.
There are 56 slopes open today, including all of the Western Territory – I can’t remember that last time that all of it was open this early in the season. The cold temperatures leading into the weekend should keep the powder nice and crisp for Saturday.
We’ll leave Bonnycastle Circle nice and early at 6 AM (don’t worry, you can sleep in the car) to try to get some first tracks in before the masses of n00bs arrive, and we’ll leave when the Soaring Eagle lift closes. Our return time can be flexible, but we’ll tentatively plan to head back to UVa at 4 PM.
