Corner Of Echols Dorm
600 Morven Drive, Charlottesville, VA, USA
It’s been a looong week and it’s only Tuesday, so I want to go put my hands in some dirt this weekend and I hope you’ll join me! We’ll be headed to volunteer at Morven, UVA’s sustainable garden. We’ll show up, do some work in the garden, and maybe even get to take home a bit of fresh produce! Last time I got some great arugula and baby bok choy 🙂
Know that you will be working outside, so dress appropriately for the weather (mostly cloudy, high of 69 degrees) and bring anything you need to stay comfortable (e.g. a water bottle, extra layers, a snack). Also please wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty! We’ll be rooting around and doing miscellaneous gardening tasks.
This trip is beginner-friendly, and the volunteer work is mostly small manual labor tasks, like weeding, harvesting produce, planting crops, etc.
The Plan:
9:45am(ish) – Leave from corner of Echols
10am-12pm – Volunteer!
12:30pm or earlier – Back home!
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST ALSO SIGN UP AT THE LINK BELOW AND FILL OUT THE WAIVER! You do not need to mark that you need a ride because I’ll be driving, and the waiver will be emailed to you after you sign up!
