Mornin’ paddle boardin’ (don’t fall)

OVERVIEW

You might notice that “Sunbathing” isn’t an activity listed on this trip. That’s because it is now DECEMBER, and paddleboarding is no longer the splash-and-giggle romp that it was in the gentle months of summer. No longer does the sun beat upon our shoulders, warming us to our core. As winter approaches, the waters of Ragged Mountain have cooled, from an almost tropical temperature to an ominous icy chill.

In the spirit of all that, I bring you… (slightly) high stakes paddleboarding! In many ways, it’s similar to a regular ol’ ragged mountain reservoir paddleboarding trip, but you’ll be a little more sad if you fall off your board. With that in mind, please only join this trip if you feel confident on a paddleboard and have made peace with the possibility of an icy plunge (and if you want that, sign up for Sophia and I’s upcoming polar plunge trip!)

Here’s the plan:

12:00 meet at Shrack (116 Washington ave), drive to Ragged
12:15 pump up paddleboards
12:30 explore the serenity of late-november Ragged
1:30 (ish) return to shore and pack up boards
1:45 crank heat in cars, and return to grounds

Don’t forget to bring:
Water
Warm clothes and a towel – I will probably wear some layers on my paddleboard, but if you’d rather wear just a swimsuit, that’s ok too
